Have you found your dream venue but the only thing holding you back is that they do not have a getting ready space or room for getting ready photos on your wedding day? As an experienced Kansas City Wedding photographer, here is my number one solution to your problem. Book a stay at a local hotel.
All three of the wedding images above were taken in a hotel room on the morning of Chance + Cheyenne’s wedding day. Specifically these images were taken at the Hilton Garden Inn by the MCI Airport.
When booking hotel rooms to get ready in prior to your wedding day, you should keep in mind these three things.
1- Does the room offer good natural light? Ask the hotel if the corner rooms offer more windows and light, and if so be sure to request this corner room.
2- Is the room spacious enough to host my entire wedding party when needed? You should asses the room and get a feel for the space. Can furniture be moved if needed? As your photographer I will let you know upon arrival if I need to rearrange or adjust the furniture to suit the best lighting situations.
3- Can I tour a room prior to booking? This is my number one suggestion when booking a hotel room for your wedding morning. This will give you the opportunity to check out the lighting and space situation. It will also help you plan and prepare for the morning, making it no stress on the day of the wedding.
